Founder - Atim Davey - Retired May 2026
(Bachelor of Physiotherapy)
After an extensive and highly respected career spanning more than two decades, Atim Davey retired from clinical practice in May 2026 to focus on family, health, and recovery from ongoing shoulder issues.
Atim graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2001 and built a remarkable career across Australia and overseas, gaining experience in elite sport, multidisciplinary private practice, occupational health, clinical Pilates, hydrotherapy, and complex musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
In 2011, Atim established ACE Sports Medicine with the vision of creating a patient-focused sports medicine clinic built around hands-on care, longer appointments, movement-based rehabilitation, and helping people perform at their best.
Before establishing ACE Sports Medicine, Atim held several senior leadership positions throughout the physiotherapy industry. He managed and helped develop more than ten physiotherapy clinics across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, led physiotherapy services for the Australian Defence Force across the Army, Navy and Air Force in the Northern Territory, and previously oversaw physiotherapy operations within one of Australia’s largest multidisciplinary private practices.
Throughout his career, Atim worked extensively with high-profile sporting clubs and athletes across multiple sporting codes, including AFL, NRL, Australian representatives, and state-level athletes. His clinical interests included sporting injuries, shoulder, knee, hip and ankle conditions, TMJ dysfunction, Pilates, core strengthening, occupational health, post-operative rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy.
Atim’s passion for physiotherapy was shaped by his own sporting injury history. After undergoing numerous injuries and reconstructive surgeries throughout his life, he developed a deep understanding of the frustration that pain and physical limitations can place on individuals. This ultimately drove his passion for helping people return to performing at their best and enjoying life to the fullest.

Joshua Wall (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)
Continuing the ACE Story
In May 2025, leadership of Ace Sports Medicine transitioned to Joshua Wall — a long-time patient, staff member, physiotherapist, and now Director of the clinic.
Joshua’s journey with ACE began in 2011 as a patient following his own sporting injuries, including an ACL reconstruction and lumbar stress fractures. Inspired by the impact physiotherapy had on his own recovery, he joined the ACE team in 2018 working in reception and as a sports trainer while completing his physiotherapy studies.
After graduating as a physiotherapist in 2021, Joshua worked closely under Atim’s mentorship, developing his clinical skills, patient-first philosophy, and passion for hands-on physiotherapy and rehabilitation. The values and approach Atim built within ACE continue to strongly shape the clinic today.
Joshua officially took over ownership and directorship in 2025 and now continues to build on the strong foundations established by Atim and the ACE team — combining hands-on physiotherapy, exercise-based rehabilitation, and genuine patient-focused care with the philosophy of “Helping You Perform at Your Best.”
